Classic, As slow & behind the times as Horry County is the website probably hasn't been updated yet.Think they have a formula that they determine the venders cost per rally. For example now it's $300.00 a day per rally but the length is different. 5 days for $300.00 per day=$1500.00 for HD & 4 days per day =$1200.00 ABBW.I do think if they're gonna cut the HD rally in half then cut the other rally too. Also have you emailed the Carolina Dealers Assiocation? These dealers have come together over the years & sponsored the rallies.Unless I'm wrong MB Harley isn't a member of the Dealers Assiocation.Up till last spring rally the Dealers had stuff at the MB Convention Center & that is why the events were moved to the Hard Rock Park. Now what will happen this year is anyone's guess.

Classic, I attended the County Council meeting Tuesday of this week in Conway and the proposal to reduce the number of vendors and increase the fees was discussed and it was send on to a second reading. No decision has been made yet. morning all, Two things I have to inform you of. Yesterday as I was looking for a list of vendors at horrycounty.org, I saw something interesting. May be I read it wrong, so I'm not 100% sure. They are listing their permits at $700.00 for 10 ten days and $400.00 for ABBW! Like I said, did I miss something? I thought they were rasiing the rates for half the time? Helo me Mr. Wizard!!!!!!!! Other thing is I have sent letters to numerous motorcycle organizations/clubs. I have only received one reply so far and that was from AMA. Unfortunately, it was a canned response. But now I have their email address and I will hit them again. Also, I have started to hit the major golf travel agencies. Hopefully more of these groups will see and agree with us. One more thing, I did hit the roughnecks. They have not responded yet. I'll keep everybody posted Ride safe and keep the rubber side down see you all at the "horry county spring rally 09" 07 FLHTC rider Keith and Carol P.S. Post those first tickets for the helmets here when you get them

Keith & Carol Thank you so much for all you do. Great job. I am going to put a signed copy of my ticket on E-Bay if I get one. The original I will give to my son. I want him to know freedom isn't free and sometimes you have to stand. For me this is one of those times. If the city is smart (I know, there is not a lot of evidence of this right now), they will simply ignore the ride.

I would expect to see a lot of verbal/written warnings when this thing first goes into effect. What's the worst that can happen... other than being arrested and having your bike towed.

They really can't ignore it. If they do, then the next time that they do decide to enforce the law, the lawyers will want to know why the law wasn't enforced the first time. It's gonna be a mess either way it goes. LOL

I told my wife last night that if I had more vacation time with this new job, we would trailer the bike down there just to join everybody in the ride. But like I said, my vacation time is short and a week is already ear marked for the "horry county spring rally 09".

Whither you support a business or not in the city limits is up to each person. I have been to almost all the City and County workshops and meetings. A business owner was put in the middle between a rock and a hard place by the City Mayor and Council. What is going to really interesting is the helmet ordance, you will never really know when you are in the City limits or not. The Mayor stated that they wil post signs on the major roads like 501,544,22,17. What this is all going to boil down to is entrapment. I have spoke to alot of the police in the city and they have their hands tied on this. The Helmet law when first presented stated ALL OPEN AIR VEHICLES. This would include - motorcycle, scooters, back of pickup truck and best of all GOLF CARTS. Now with that said the Mayor said that the law has to changed so that Golf Carts and not included. Rhodes stated that there is NO way I am going to wear a Helmet while using my Golf Cart. Above is my 2cent

hey that law is really getting more discriminatory, especially if he excludes golf carts. And also, shouldn't bicycles be included? They are under power! Something else to ponder. There's my 1 cent!

seaside: Can-Am Days are scheduled for March 14-22; MB hosts a regional cheerleader/dance team event annually in March; there's also some regional band competitions held here annually; Cruise to the coast car show; MB Marathon in Feb; Boat dealers have an annual boat show but that's over for this year, I think. Is there a convention center or something like that outside of the city of Myrtle Beach? I did find a web site for the beach ball classic I'll see if I can find organizational websites for these folks. The convention center is in the city of MB, they have a website which shows all the events coming up.

hey all, I emailed the carolinas harley davidson association this morning. It was not about the boycott, but if they were going to be in attendance. Well, here's their reply:
Keith, I don't know yet. Harley-Davidson Motor Company has said they will be there and are looking for a new location as last year's site, Hard Rock Theme Park is in bankruptcy. The Carolina Harley-Davidson Dealers Association is waiting to learn if and where The Motor Compnay will be located to make a decision. We are, however, also looking at alternative locations and will make a decision by the end of February. We will update our web site as soon as these decisions are make. Thanks, Sandy Owens The Carolina Harley-Davidson Dealers Association
Now that is good news!!!!!! Even HD is coming back!!!!!!! I know, I know, they won't know until Februaru, but I am taking a positive approach! Maybe when we find out, we can send a copy of the confirmation to the city!!!!!!!!
Ride safe and keep the rubber side down see you at the "horry county spring rally 09" 07 FLHTC rider Keith and Carol

You mean the mayor didn't tell HD that the rally is done? LOL
Maybe HD can go to the Waccamaw Factory Shops. They have plenty of room and it's out of the city limits. I see that the Pee Dee Street Rodders are having their Run To The Sun car show back at Waccamaw after being at Hard Rock Park last year. That sure is a big area that's going to waste.
