I find it interesting that the radio Commercials for Mayor Rhodes are concentrating on the theme that the 1 percent sales tax for tourism promotion will soon roll into a reduction of Myrtle Beach property taxes. Further if some petition being circulated is effective, the process will be sped up bringing much needed financial relief to property owners in MB.
Funny that there is no mention of having done away with the "terrible" rallies and ridding the town of those "awful bikers". Perhaps doing so would make some voters think of how they also ridded the town of the "awful bikers free spending" and did away with all those "terrible" jobs that came with it.

I also wonder that if the advertising campaign, funded by the 1 per cent tax increase has been as successful as they say in luring new business, how can they possibly consider transferring the funds from this to pay property taxes in MB.

When Chambergate broke the Chamber said that they had not collected any money from the ADD Tax yet... Hummm. How can that be ? Haven't collected money but the money we haven't collected is bringing enough tourists to put our oxygen supply at risk.
