iBiker is not, as a rule, a politically-oriented endeavor. I mean that in the sense that it is not a Republican, or Democrat, or any other philosophy oriented place other than to seek protection of our constitutional rights and a restoration of the democratic process to Myrtle Beach.
It was born in direct response to the actions of Mayor Rhodes and the City Council and so in that sense it is "political", but on the small scale of local politics. We have striven to avoid the major controversial political issues of the day on the larger national scale. There are plenty of places dedicated to that. Such things are not prohibited, but we just wanted to remain focused on the problem at hand in MB. Those who know me know how much self control it takes for me not to use this space to spout off my opinions on such issues, for I surely have them as does everyone else I am sure.
An item came across my desk this morning, however, that is too good not to pass along. It is the most clear-eyed expression of what is wrong with the mindset in Washington DC at the moment I have seen and it very closely mirrors the outrage I have at what I believe to be a Congress and Executive that are utterly out of control. Of all places, it comes from an elected representative in Congress, Michelle Bachman. While I am sympathetic to the mindset that says "Vote them all out!", she's a keeper in my opinion.
I am passing the following along without further comment. In my opinion, the "Gangster Government" she describes as having settled in in Washington exists in Myrtle Beach as well, only on a smaller scale. Just as with the Car Czar, the Mayor and his cronies are perfectly willing to devalue or eliminate YOUR business, see YOUR job go away, see YOUR income confiscated through new taxes... if it serves their larger goals. All with no effective check on their actions except at the ballot box, and they have seen to it that your votes are diluted as well.
