Remember the fallen; Honor those who serve; Teach our children the value of freedom. You are invited to attend The 3rd Annual Wreath Laying Service at Florence National Veterans Cemetery December 13, 2008 12:00 pm Is anyone going? Who's PGR on this board? Those who aren't, please visit the PGR site at www.patriotguard.org. It's a great way to honor our soldiers! This will be my first year attending this function. I saw the pics from last year and it's awesome! But, I'm perturbed at the number of headstones that DON'T have wreathes. How sad that we can all enjoy the freedoms our vets died for but cannot blanket our national cemetery with wreathes of gratitude. I felt like a stupidhead; I didn't know about this! This year, I sponsored two wreathes and I challenge everyone on this board to match my contribution. Visit their site at: www.wreathsacrossamerica.orgHappy Holidays to all! BTW - can we get this on the calendar?

Awesome, Freebird! Hope you and Victoria can make it. After the ceremony, some of us will be riding on to Timmonsville to visit Mr. Parker, the Vietnam Vet that needs our help. (Didja get the email?) I'll be caging so I can help haul the donations for the Parker family. I'm bringing a few Xmas gifts for them, too. (note to self: be couth and wrap the presents before I go... ) And, my mom crocheted a beautiful lil Xmas tree so they'll always have a "tree" for Xmas! Anyone else interested in getting involved in PGR missions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

I went to the Wreathes Across America ceremony today at the Florence National Cemetery and it was awesome!
The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts were an integral part of the ceremony. It was great to see the children getting a true life lesson of honoring our veterans AND our freedoms.
I've emailed our Ride Captain, Bill Stewart, and I've asked him to send pics along for all to see.
