Would it not be wise and profitable for some sort of committee of bikers contact Horry Co. and NMB and surrounding areas to start some sort of discussions on how to make the rallies more organized since these areas have still allowed the rallies to continue. There should be some discussion regarding the vendors (ie How many and where) maybe some organized rides for charity...just allot could be accomplished I think right now. And even allow MB to be included ( I think they would decline) and when its all said and done the Spring Rally would be better, people will know what to expect. And if the city decline's...we tried and they are left out. Just a thought

Jeff, this is a bit off topic (and maybe a tad bit irreverent but I think He will forgive me...)
If you are riding "For the SON", can you also be riding "Against the SOB"? ;D

Hey Jeff... I think right now, (of course I don't speak for everyone but...) folks are letting the dust settle. After the little "lunch" that was played up to be the biggest event of the year, a lot of folks are just kicking back and regrouping. The ball has been passed to the business owners of Myrtle Beach and that machine is picking up steam. The proper time will come to hash things out with the County. They too play the "waiting game".

Jeff
I am not sure about Horry County yet and to some extent I feel the Business Community and residents need to work out their problems as to if they want a Bike Week and what kind do they want. The ball is in their court.
As for NMB I am on board with that and have contacted the Chamber as NMB was on board from day one as I remember. I will be supporting NBM for all two wheeled enthusiasts to vacation here and will be advertising more of their Hotels as I interview them.
As for the promoter of Bike Week ( Festival Promotions ; Mike Shank ) he is on his own as far as I am concerned. Does what he wants or doesn't. I do not exactly trust him. I plan on going it alone and hopefully some from ibiker will help me have some rides and activities for our members. For me Bike Week will be hangin with friends and doing our own thing. If they provide some things to do it is a bonus but not going to wait like last year and be disappointed and disorganized.

Alot of people have said they didn't exactly get a warm fuzzy feeling from Mike Shanks.Plus he does work with the city. All those promotions & events that Rhodes plan to replace the Spring rally with probably will be going thru Festival Promotions.

Good idea, bird. Ibiker can plan some informal rides and maybe do something for a charity or two, ie: poker run. There are some good riding destinations around the area. Let me know if I can help.

Rhodes may be realizing that the helmet law is about to come to an end and their cookie will start to crumble. So he just may get with Mike Shank and come up with a plan for the rallies to try to save his butt and bring business back into the City. Remember, he's two faced and just might start this "Can't we just all get along" crap before the election. This is only a thought and I'm sure at this point has run through the heads of those crooked bastards!

Glad you guys got me up to speed. I am all for helping ibiker anyway I can and am in favor of the NMB thing also. I do not know Shanks but he does appear not to up on organization of the rallies. I hope that when all is said and done we find 1) more organization 2) more rides for charity 3) a city with less RHODES 4) a city with a new workable council 5) prefab missing

Honestly Geeze There is a lot of places and rides that could be done. It is beautiful on the back roads and a lot of history down here. I would rather have some knee's in the breeze. All Shank is going to do is produce a book to pick up at the HD shop. I hope we can put together something with the people from the site. Thanks for always being there.

Same here Bird. I believe the members here can continue to make a difference. It's unfortunate that some people only value money.
