THANKS TO ALL FOR THE GREAT WORK KYHDMAN When you get here there will be pamphlets and handouts available everywhere for your information to avoid the City of Myrtle Beach and routes to get from the south to the north end. Also it will list all of the places of interest and vendors. They will be available in any bar in the Murrells Inlet area or along the Bike Rally route.

If you think that your bike may be on the borderline of being over the decibels, I wouldn't worry too much about that. Just keep off the throttle when you need to and you'll be OK. Like always, if you ask for it, you're gonna get it.

THANKS TO ALL FOR THE GREAT WORK KYHDMAN Kman The only thing that is a problem right now that I know about is if you will be sent into the City for the HD turnaround. I have heard the LEO's have asked the City to make it a safe zone but have no further info. I would suggest a call to State Police or Horry County Sherriff's if you have any questions. 22 and 31 are being closed at 8.30 PM right now but I believe that will end by this weekend. Past that it is our time and Toads can get some earmuffs. It is time for the canceled Bike Week to Begin... Vroom Vroom

I have heard the LEO's have asked the City to make it a safe zone but have no further info. If you are coming down Hwy 544 towards Surfside, turn left at the stoplight towards Prestwick, go to the "T" intersection, turn right and that will come out on Hwy 17 Business right between the HD dealership and the car wash/vendor area. When you leave there, just turn right onto Hwy 17 Business and away from the city of MB.

When you leave there, just turn right onto Hwy 17 Business and away from the city of MB. Just MAKE SURE, after you turn right at the "T" intersection, that you STAY on THAT road when it bears to the left (following along the border between the Crystal Lake mobile homes and Prestwick fence) - and DON'T bear to the right at the road just past the elementary school. If you DO turn right onto THAT road, you will ALSO come out on Business 17 - but at the intersection of the gas station/convenience store FARTHER south of the Harley Dealership, and would then have the same problem with having to turn around inside City of Myrtle Beach limits.

If you are heading north on business 17 and are south of the HD Dealership they make you go past the HD Dealership and the City Limits are right past the Dealership. So you have to turn around in the City to get back to the HD Dealership. This is where the first tickets were written on the freedom ride and is well before the Myrtle Beach sign. Once you get that far all you can do is go into MB. Hopefully it will be solved before it is a problem

I've been thinking about this whole thing with regards to helmets and exhaust. Some people have been posting that they have been riding down/up 17 thru the city and the police hev not stopped them. That would be great if they did that. But what if they, the city, are setting us up? They let all the locals ride thru on 17 before the rally and then drop the hammer during the rally and catch a lot of people off guard.
Just my .001 cents on this.

Some Myrtle Beach officers have told me that, unless they can easily reach/approach the violator, they are NOT going to make drastic and/or unsafe efforts to turn around and pursue a helmet violation they observe on an open highway and/or in heavy traffic.
They do NOT want to be "THE MBPD officer" who receives bad publicity (and more) for possibly being in and/or causing an accident for a questionable and controversial minor offense.
I should note that the MAJORITY of MBPD officers I've spoke with - and I've known them long and well enough to take their word - do NOT approve of the helmet law but are in the dilemma of having to enforce it.
Thus, they are weighing risk versus their duty - which I can understand.

I am staying at the Myrtle Beach State Park campground, when I get to the beach. Will I be able to enter and leave the park without getting into city limits? I have stayed there many times before and really like it. I don't want to change. I plan on coming in from the south and always leaving to the south.I understand I could put on a helmet when needed, but I can't put mufflers on that easy. Thanks

Thanks The entrance to the state park IS in the city limits. The use of a lid is questionable depending on where the roadblocks are set up. Thats why I went to the apache campground in NMB this year..
