Well against my advise myself and a couple of friends made a day trip to the strand yesterday.. Guess the old greyhairs got their wish to me the turnout was pathetic more like a gathering instead of a rally.. Again this year rode thru MB proper and still no ticket for the lid?? I guess more greyhairs are out and about cause from murrels inlet to NMB we had to lock the brakes several times for being cut off or pulled out infront of (guess a 250lb man on a 900lb bike is invisible).. Sorry didnt get to see any of you guys was kinda a last minute thing.. Saw beach front rooms where we had stayed before and paid upto 140 a night advertised for $39 and the CC says buisiness is great??? WHERE??? The bored walk was not even impressive kinda like walking on my backyard deck just bigger.... MB is changing and I dont think its for the better just the unnews headlines the last few days (attempted abduction-- Lifegaurd running over beachgoer etc) I wont be bringing my family there.... Stay well and keep the rubber side down.......

Isnt it just FANTASTIC. The Residents get the quiet they requested and the Hotels can advertise $39.00 rooms they cant fill for the June Cleaver tourists they desire. I just am gonna split my sides open. ;D ;D WE TOLD YOU SO... The few that attended Taste all said the same thing about how lame it was but the Council doesnt care folks. Its all a SHAM to give your tax dollars to their rich friends. MB you have been Whooo Doood. Just too funny.

I wonder if the old bluehairs have put out the word that we're moving targets and they get bonus points for every one they scare and extra if the bike goes down. Wife and I were going to ride down last night and spend the night, glad we didn't. It's to bad that MB has gone to he!! in a hand basket I really enjoyed bike week and after 30 plus years of going I'll miss it Not a dime for the rest of time Attachments:

The wife and I came down on Friday the 7th. We passed the motel we used to stay in at Rockingham and instead of being full of bikes and trailers like in the past, it had three cars. The week started slow with few bikes and less venders but picked up as the week went on. Nothing like the bike week of 5 years ago. Even at the end of the week there was always parking any where you stopped, even down at the south end. But the weather was great and we rode alot and made the best of it. On the bad side, last year my truck I bought while down there was broken into and this year some lowlife went thru my saddle bags one night while the bike was parked under the condo, both times in NMB. With the low turnout I would guess there will be no venders next year. The condo complex we stay in had 4 cars in it. Guess the mayor got what he wanted, hurting businesses from MB all the way up into NC. Hope everyone got home safely, rally or not count us in for next year. You just can't beat the ride.

Woody Thanks for the updates and thanks for coming. Sorry bout your low life situation. Do come next year and enjoy. We as Americans have that Freedom contrary to some and their beliefs. Speaking of Rockingham I have really enjoyed the racing there even if it is not NASCAR. Was standing next to Awesome Bill from Dawsonville last weekend and watched Larry McReynolds son burn the field. That boy was in another Zip Code. Robert Pressly's son was there as well as a member of the Wallace family. The place is a who's who of kids and grandkids in pro cup late models.

Woody, Like freebird says, "Thanks for coming". Please come back next year. There are still people in the area that want to see you return. In fact, here is a photo we snapped this week from a business that sums up the entire week.

We have already reserved again for next year, I think that will make 14 or 15 years in a row. I like beach and the warm weather riding but the rally of the past is dead. Also the people are friendly, alot of people we came in contact with thanked us for coming down, from conversations in a parking lot to the check out women at the Bi-Lo in NMB. The mayor and his rules have kept us out of the city for the past two years but we never seem to have a problem finding other places to spend the vacation money since we alway return home broke. Thanks for inviting us back, its looking good for a return trip next year.

Weather was perfect this year, seriously couldn't ask for better.
Crowd size was great down in Murrells Inlet area.
Myself and my friends had an excellent week!!
Look forward to this fall and then 2011.

Rode down for the weekend on Saturday AM and hit all of the hot spots. Had a great time, but noticed that there were WAY fewer people around, about half of last year, which was REALLY low, too. No waiting for spots at SBB or HD Main location, also noticed that there were almost no vendors around. Also saw no lines for the beer tub girls, and they had low tip jars, too. I'll still keep coming back, just to see friends that live down there. Beaver Bar in G'town was packed, and the Anvil was swarmed with HA and other 3-piece patch clubs. On another note, I heard the guy at Omega pancake on the south end (are there more than one?) say that the SC has killed the bucket law, and was waiting until after ABBW to announce it... Looking forward to next year...

The only Omega I know is The Omega Pancake and Omelet House in Surfside Beach. Nick is the owner and he is an all around Great Guy. Great food and very affordable lunches. He is listed in the recommended section on the left because he Still doesn't have a web page something too common down here. He does know a lot of people tho so he may be right. Many have heard the same so time will tell. Thank you for coming down and remember to Do It Again In 2010. It is what the COMB residents are asking you to do as evidenced by their VOTE.

This was my seventeenth year in a row. Don't plan on stopping any time soon. Helmet law or not, they ain't keeping me away. Not a dime in the city. To all those that voted in MB, you got what you asked for! To all those that chose not to vote, you also got what you asked for. This year the weather was awesome all week long! Can't wait until the Fall Rally!!!

Hey all, We pulled in to Lakewood Campground thursday morning and it looked like they had a good crowd in there. Not full, but somewhere inbetween half to 3/4 full. We rode all over the south end and all the way up to Little River and saw groups of bikes here and there. Decided to run thru the city for a good laugh and we werent disappointed. Ocean Blvd was a ghost town friday evening. Hardly anyone walking on the sidewalks, and only bikes we saw were a few parked at the condos. All the hotels had vacancy signs out and were pretty much begging for business. I think 35 bucks for an oceanfront room was advertized on one sign. I heard a funny sound down there that i had never heard before...the echo of my own stock muffler resonating thru the streets...lol I hope every one had a great time with the beautiful weather we had. I'll be heading back with the family in July to Lakewood again and once again thumb our noses at the City. Hope everyone got home safe and see you all in the fall and again in 2011:)
