The Mayor and clowns want to turn Myrtle Beach into a sports town NOT a family place. Yes and No. You don't spend $25 million on artificial turf fields just so the children of seagate village have a place to play. These fields were created to attract sports tournaments to the area. And while these fields will eventually pay for themselves; it's foolish to think they will ever replace the revenue from the bike rallies.

Ghost I hope this investment pays off and feel diversified investment is best for any City. Its that all your eggs in one basket thing. I hope for the well being of the citizens and businesses of MB the City has a workable plan as the Bikers wont be coming back to MB for years if ever. DO IT AGAIN IN 2010.

Driving home this evening 11-19 I see that the Seafare Restaurant on Business 17 near St Rte 544 (surfside Beach area) is closed with a for lease sign in front of it. That is a HUGE facility.
Recently I saw a sign on the big Yellow Church/Restaurant just north of Lake Arrowhead road on Rt 17 claiming to be opening as either a Seafare or Crabby Mikes (can't remember which) I seem to recall the crab-van in front, I suppose most likely Crabby Mikes? The wife thinks it was Seafare.

I forget the name of the place that use to be there.

I was working at Grand Ball Park yesterday. The superintendent pointed out a rep from the Turf company(Maine) & he had rejected the $300,000.00 job on 1 field because the specs. The lines had been put down already,so it will dug up & thrown out.$300,000. down the crapper.WASTE as businesses fold left & right.

Sporting events bring alot of people but not $$$$ most of them are on budgets and this would not be only event so they spend very sparingly at each.... Spending alot for nothing in return...
Rhodes and clowns lie again , they stated that all work would be done by local companies only...
