The information for the Freedom Fest Parade on Saturday, Sept 12 is:
The parade will begin promptly at 1 pm. all of those intending on riding with Rolling Thunder are to be at the park
no later than 11 am. We will be staging at gate 1.
From 501/Conway you will be heading south on 501 to George Bishop Parkway/River Oaks Drive/Hard Rock exit
and take a right onto George Bishop Parkway. At the traffic light take a left onto Hard Rock Parkway and go to
the last gate on the right, Gate 1 we will stage in this parking lot prior to moving to the parade starting line.
From 501/Myrtle Beach you will be heading north on 501 to George Bishop Parkway/River Oaks Drive/Hard Rock exit
at the end of the ramp you will make left on George Bishop Parkway. At the traffic light take a left onto Hard Rock Parkway and go to the last gate on the right, Gate 1 we will stage in this parking lot prior to moving to the parade starting line.
We will be issued a wrist band and tickets permitting us entrance into the park as participants in the parade and
re-entry into the park following the parade. Everyone must be there by 10:45 am, we will be moving from the gate
location to the starting line at 11 am. We will be staging early as we will be performing the Table of Honor /Missing Man-
POW Table at 12:00 (Noon) then restaging to our bikes at the starting line about 100 feet from where the table and our
information booth will be located. Everyone is asked to wear their Rolling Thunder white Tee-shirt, nice jeans and a
Rolling Thunder, POW-MIA or Black Service cap, we will be displaying all of our service specific flags along with the
American, POW/MIA and Chapter Flags.
Once again all participating in the Parade will be admitted free to all activities at the Festival including all of the
concerts, does not include reserved seating for Lee Anne Rhymes.
Those wishing to ride as a group from the North will meet at the Hess/Wilco Station on Route 9 just East of the
Route 31 junction (east of Route 57) at 9:45 am with kickstands up at 10 am. Please be prompt!
If you have any questions or have not already committed to participate and would like to participate please contact
either Bruce or Margaret Hutchison, as we have a limited number of positions available but there are positions open.
