You know Bird, ever since Rhodes got in office and started opening his big mouth Myrtle Beach has started to crumble to a slow death. We have gone down hill fast, taxes have had to be raised, businesses have closed, crime has sky rocketed, more people than ever out of work and the tourist are disappearing. When McBride was Mayor he did make a dumb statement about "he could bump a biker" because of the F word on the back of a bikers tee shirt. His statement was foolish but I agree about about the language being displayed in public, it doesn't need to be. Myrtle Beach was doing great and he never would have canceled bike week and also told Rhodes he was making a mistake with what he was doing. I just hope there's enough smart people in the city (like me) to vote him out in November!

Beach I agree. That is why I posted this even tho it has nothing to do with the Rallies. It shows that the heavy handed tactics have permeated the Chamber of Comedy as well. It is in all aspects of MB. I can avoid all of this rather easily but many friends cannot. It seems the Mayor ( and I use the term loosely ) feels he can circumvent the US Constitution and the SC Constitution at will. As a Proud American and Veteran these are my issues in this. If there is a Rally or not doesn't concern me altho I am doing everything I can to ensure a good showing. I say the First Amendment says they have a right to assemble and Article V1 says no one can circumvent it. I have the same problem with the helmet law. Done properly and fairly I am ok with Noise Ordinances. Actually it will take away judgment and make it fair for all. The operative word is done fairly which we now know from the Car Rallies is not going to happen. Past that what the Mayor has done in legal terms is Prior Restraint and I am surprised that someone hasn't filed this in Federal Court. That is why I hope all coming understand the importance of good behavior. Lets not make the case for His Highness. November Is The Time To Remember... My two Cents. Thank you and all for joining and posting on this board. Unlike MB all are welcome here and I agree to disagree respectfully.

I cant but Bro1 can. I will put in a request At Martinsville today the Mayor was out at the track thanked all the people coming to the Track. She advised us that we spent 98 million dollars this week in Martinsville and 197 million last week in Bristol. She said that both towns in VA benefit greatly and in a bad economy she was extremely grateful. They literally rolled out the Red Carpet. Seems all the Bikers and Supporters which was about the whole crowd said they wouldn't spend a dime in MB but had no problem coming to Darlington. Interesting was how many SC people I met there who took their money away from SC and spent it in VA and NC. I also had the opportunity to stop in Rockingham. Now that they lost the NASCAR race it is a sad looking town of boarded up businesses. It is amazing how quick the downward spiral is. .
