Boycott Murder Beach and NOT A DIME IN 09 I think they may think twice come May when the rest of the county gets the income and all they get is the same ole ABBW street party, which is largley non bikers so I understand. Just a thought that went through may head about yesterdays procedings. Any possibility that the judge knew it would go higher anyway and just took the quick way out of the case so as to not get caught up in objecting with local government? And on another thought. Is there any venues set up for financial donations to the cause? I am not wealthy but I know every little bit would help ease the burdons of those fighting the cause in court. That is something I don't think I have seen mentioned anywhere.

BB All the judges have stated that this will not be settled until the South Carolina Supreme Court/ US Supreme Court rules. I am wondering the same thing. We have just begun to fight.
While the idea of a legal defence fund has been talked about it is not something we are doing at this point. Tom McGrath has agreed to do this Pro Bono and we ask to spread his website around to all and ask if injured to use his law firm. This is how he gives back.
Also if any are not an ABATE member now is a good time to join. There is a link on the Home Page to Horry County Abate. This is a local chapter very much in the fight and could use all the support we can give them. Gary Balcom will help any with questions you might have. Tell him Bird sent you.
Past that please expand the Boycott any way you can and bring awareness to our struggle. We are stronger together.

As an Abate member I feel that people who are encouraged to join Abate of Horry should know some of Abate sponsors are in the city & Abate doesn't support boycotting thse businesses.

Classic53, thanks for the letters. I've been sending them out and asking everyone to spread them out, too. 365 days a year is great, too. These business owners should ask Mayor Rhodes for a "bail out" for the damage he has caused. Not A Dime In '09!

As a biker who lives here in Horry County, I can see the writing on the wall. The attorney keeps losing, the courts keep agreeing with the city, and the ordinances are going to be enforced. Our lawyer sure is quiet today. Wonder who finally talked some sense into him? Even I can see that this Freedom Ride is a dumb, dumb idea. So we're all gonna get on our bikes and do exactly the things they don't want us to do? In other words, we're going to show them that we are exactly what they think we are? That doesn't sound very bright. I think our lawyer got his degree in a cereal box. We aren't winning in court, so we're gonna go be not a very nice persons on our bikes. That's about the stupidest thing I've heard all year, even stupider than the crazy helmet ordinance. I'm not going to pay a ticket cause I'm not going to get one. If you do get a ticket, better plan to pay it, cause the lawyer's sure as hell isn't going to be there for you. Instead of a lawyer, we need a good PR firm. Geez, we're about to make fools of ourselves with this idiotic ride. Count me out.

However, the bikers also won because Atlantic Beach and North Myrtle Beach both want and welcome the rallies.
