I just rode down Ocean Blvd. Man it is sad! The town leaders should be ashamed of what they have done. I couldn't believe the vacancy signs and the prices. There is some major money being lost because of Rhodes and company!

Somewhat sounds like the wheels are slowing down and some back peddling is starting....

It would be interesting to get a "truthful" recap about occupancy rates (and room prices), Restaurant and saloon profits in Myrtle Beach versus the Biker friendly outlying areas. I don't think that the C of C and the Coastal center can be relied on to take the effort to REALLY search out the data. In addition I am not comfortable about their motivation.
Even though there are fewer attendees, those who came are hopefully being careful not to patronize businesses in the "biker un-friendly Myrtle Beach. This could well make for a banner year for the establishments in Murrells inlet as well as the other (Longs, NMB etc) semi outlying areas. Sadly there are some Biker Friendly places within MB that will be hurt by this, Donny's for example.
God help us if Mr Rice gets elected County Council Chairman.. His anti biker stance is well documented. So far our only salvation has been that Horry County Council has been reluctant to act as strongly as did Myrtle Beach. If Rice is elected it can only have a negative impact on ALL motorcyclists all the time. Perhaps he will institute a County wide HELMET LAW! Never can tell you know.
Howard Barnard comes across as the lesser of two evils in this race. I think he is basically a good guy, an American hero for his military service but he did have to listen to his constituents on the south end (ironically) who hated all that the rally consisted of. Ironic because the remainder of the rally is now centered in his bailiwick.
