I was watching TV and this commercial came on about the MB May Fest, What the he!! is it so I checked out the website. Looks live the CofC, rodent and clowncil are trying hard to replace the $$$ lost by keeping us (bikers) out, but if it's like everything else they've put on it'll be a FLOP ;D ;D. Trying to have something every weekend , OH the add for may fest was followed by an add for "THE BIGGEST LOSER" series, message there I'd love to see the books for Murder Beach funds, are they in the RED or black

Good they don't have money or time to congregate anywhere that they can harass.

No the rally is DEAD. Just my opinion DITTO. Dead, Done, Gone.....I hope no one takes this wrong but from the point of view from this local it might not be all that bad. People come on bikes all time of year and spread out might be better for some to take. Come all year round. Go to Florida for a Rally.

the Key word for bikers coming back in May ONLY TIME WILL TELL I kinda agree with some of the others, the rally is dead I've been going to the spring rally for over 30 years. I've seen MB go from a seasonal stop off to the year round place to go ;D, but with it's current leadership MB is DOOMED!! I'll still come down once in a while to dine at some of the restaurants we enjoy, but only after the ordinance are overturned. We enjoy riding down there. ;D And yes only time will tell Attachments:

DOES ANYONE (BIKERS) THINK THAT AT SOME POINT IN TIME , THE RALLY WILL RETURN TO M.B.? Nope, won't return. I belong to another bike-specific forum. Each year there is a post about the rally and a good 40 people go there to talk about it. This year there are two posters, and one of them is me.

I have been hearing radio ads for MB up here in NC promoting all the weekend events during May. They play three or four times a day. I think this is the first time I have ever heard MB radio adds up here. Sounds to me they are getting desperate spending that advertising money this close to home.

Well after about a year of just reading the post I decided I might have something to say...I WAS planning on coming down during bike week this year but after 1) the issue with HOG pulling out of NMB because of whatever and 2) no ruling on the helmet issue I have decided to skip MB, Actually I have decided to skip it forever. I hate it for the GOOD citizens of MB but on the other hand I hope all those that want peace get it. As I read about MB I really think that peace is coming...no business, no visitors....but I do see just like freedom it comes with a price...TAXES. I hate that the rallies are, as I see them OVER but if those that want them gone are happy...I'm happy for them....MB WAS just a destination, there are other destinations that are more inviting than MB. Friends on the other hand are forever and that can't change but as for MB I'm done..no more...no Bike week...no coming down in July and December with the family and no more paying your high taxes for nothing...And to the mayor and council...go take a hike on your new boardwalk.....

If the voters in MB want high taxes through out the year so they can get a good nights sleep in May, well they got it. But there are miles of open roads and beaches with places to visit out side the city limits. We have come down for the last twelve years in a row for the escape to warm weather from Michigan. If the rally is dead there are still plenty of things that draw us to NMB. Less people mean more open roads for riding with less congestion and back ups. The boycott of the city for us is still on but we will be down. Becareful and ride safe.

Little Buck (my wife) saw a MB Mayfest TV commercial yesterday that advertised oceanfront rooms $49 per night during the month of May. Seems that MB is begging harder for visitors to come. Not us We are DOING IT AGAIN IN 2010
