I just sent an email to CNN this morning about the freedom ride. As soon as I hear something, if I do, I will post it. But I will say this, if they pick it up, we better muster the forces for the ride. It would be awesome if thousands of bikers showed up. I told bird if they do pick it up, we are coming down to participate in the ride. Screw work!!!!!!!

I have heard some people say that they are going on this ride but they are wearing helmets. What's the point in that? I thought the whole idea of the ride was to protest the city over-riding a state law. If you wear a helmet, what are you protesting?
I still haven't decided if I will go on this ride or not. It does go inside the city limits, a place where I don't care to go. If I do decide to go, I won't wear a helmet.

I too am undecided as if I`ll go or not. One reason is if I get ticketed a hundred dollars for not wearing a helmet and have to pay the fine Myrtle Beach will then use that money against me and further their cause against bikers. Anybody going on the Freedom Ride be advised we will be burning our old and no longer wanted MB Bike Weeks shirts before the ride. If you have some that are no longer wanted or needed join the fun. ;D

Hi all... New here. A friend told me to come on over and check it out. Nice place you got here... Anyway, I agree with Geezer and Outhouse on some level but if the numbers for this ride are not HUGE it truly defeats the purpose. Itoo though don't want to spend money (even ticket money) in MB

Welcome, Howard. Yes the ride needs to be a big event or no one will notice. I really hope that there is a large turn out for this.
With that said, I don't know if I can bring myself into attending the ride. I do not care to enter Myrtle Beach but I do know that a lot of people don't agree with me on this. I hope they all show up for the ride.

geezer The front tire of my bike hasn't seen the City limits in 10 months. It will on the 28th. I respect your opinion and choice no matter what your decision. I still can not decide on wearing a helmet. I do not advocate breaking the law and do not think it serves our side well. To be honest I hope we win in court on the 24th and it is a moot point. We are starting to win people over so we need to be careful of any bad PR. I too am having an internal struggle that will likely not be settled until the morning of the 28th. I support whatever you decide. Howard Welcome to ibiker. All are welcome here.

His name is Tom McGrath. If I am not mistaken he will also be on the helmet freedom ride the 28th. I won't be wearing my helmet on the freedom ride, or I won't be going. All choices are up to the individual.

Thanks for the welcome... Just to let everyone know, I'm not new to the "scene" just new to this site. I've been on the battlefront since day one. I look forward to discussing things with y'all. Howard...
