Hello,
I wanted to inform this forum that a documentary about Myrtle Beach bike week is going in to production over the next month. I will be the host/narrator. A production company from Wilmington will be in town over the course of the next few months to film.
I have lived in this area for 15 years, I am a biker.
We plan to film at many locations before, during and after bike week.
We wish to capture businesses and individuals and their thoughts concering the rallies, the economy and the biker community.
If there is anyone here, or anyone you know, which can help supply information or insight it would be welcomed.
In particular, we would like any existing video of things such as town council meetings concerning bikers, news reports concerning bikers, etc...
I really look forward to doing this project and hope to make our local biker community "shine".
I will check this forum occassionally, or I can be reached at rockstar@sc.rr.com
Thank you.

Rockstar Welcome to ibiker. The blogs have a bit of History and the info section has a lot in there as well. Certainly something I would research is why Mike Hilton can run over two bikers and drive home, then walk back to view his carnage, where he was identified and charged but to date never gone to trial. His lawyer is a Brittian. Hint. Friends in high places. Hint. Has done a similiar act before Hint. www.topix.com/forum/source/myrtle-beach-online/T9P8M865EPM4OSFMKwww.horrycounty.org/publicindex/PISear...

Sandwiched between Mayfest & Blue Crab Festival will be an interesting 4 days.I shall go & investigate the shenanigans there with my throttleman.

I'm appreciating all the information you guys/gals are giving, I will be following up and will have the producers follow up in the coming month.
On a side note, I'm not sure if you are aware but Marty Rhoades, the shop manager at the local Harley dealer, is running for council in Surfside Beach. Marty is a good guy and will be a good BIKER FRIENDLY addition to the Surfside Beach council.
1:30P on March 28th at the Surfside Town Hall (115 US Hwy 17N in Surfside) they are going to have a meet and greet of all the people running for Surfside council. I hope some can attend and support Marty.
Marty Rhoades is a road we can live with, not the other Rhodes!

If any of you are local business owners we would be very interested in talking with you about filming before, during and after bike week. We would like to profile the business owners that are BIKERS, but not necessarily ones that own businesses that specifically cater to bike weeks.
i.e. if you own a shop, laundromat, hardware store, etc... we would be interested in talking to you.
But of course we also want to talk to BIKERS that own businesses as bars, restaurants, hotels, etc.....
Please contact me ASAP as our schedule is already rather full. I hope to profile more of the biker owned businesses but we need your info now.
