why have so many motels within the city deicded to post on the spring rally web that they are now biker friendly.ROTFLMAO i think they might be seeing were a lot stronger than they give us credit for.hopfully there will be enough other places to stay that no one has to stoop that low to have to stay there.i know its not the businesses themselves but they cant have the cake and eat too.LETS GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT.NOT A DIME IN 2009,2010,2011, if everyone stays strong we can prove the POINT

They are biker DOLLAR friendly, that's all. These people sat on their hands and did nothing when the mayor and town coucil were making their plans. (I know a few spoke up, but not many.) Now, I'm sure that word has gotten to them about Not A Dime In '09 and they are scrambling. I would guess that their reservations for the rally are way off so far this year. With the economy in the shape it's in, they're worried.
These business owners need to remember how this happened come the November election. I'm sure that some of these people and their employees live inside Myrtle Beach and vote. It's going to take some time for the next mayor to repair all the damage that mayor Rhodes has done.
Something else, if someone here in SC wanted to get a room inside MB but didn't like to wear a helmet, they would have to wear one just to go to and from their room. What a crock!

I have been staying in the same motel in MB as long as I have been going there. I hate to punish them for the city councels actions because they have always been so accomodating. Even outside of bike week they would give bikes special parking considerations up close and in the corners close to the office. I hate to not stay with them this year as I do every year on several occasions, but I AM coming and they are inside the city limits so i am staying elsewhere. I have contacted them and informed them why and appologized. I hope they understand. Maybe if more of us express our feelings to the motels we are so used to staying at inside of the city limits, more of them will be more attentive at council meeting and stand up for themselves as well as us. I know they are all going to feel the impact that this May will have on them.

It is a shame that some businesses will feel the pinch from the loss of some biker business but I hope they will realize that they need to band together and put some pressure on the mayor and city council to undo what they have done. These business should be raising hell with the powers to be in Myrtle Beach! Be sure to stay out of the Spring House Family Restaurants, it is owned by Wayne Grey, a city council member that voted to pass the ordinances in Myrtle Beach. In the past he has put "Welcome Bikers" on his marquee beside the highway, he doesn`t like us but he sure likes our money. All good points and valid. When the Chamber of Commerce/ City of MB put up their propaganda website I lost all respect for the business community at large. Now that the Boycott is spreading the cracks in the armor is apparent. While I too have sympathy for all effected you may lay the blame where it belongs. Directly at the Mayors feet. Until this is resolved my wallet is closed inside the City Limits.

This just goes to show you what type of morals he has......We need everyone to let him know we're onto his lies and unlike his better half, we're not that forgiving of his lies and "double dipping"

Maybe we could get a fund started and buy some paintball guns and have target practice with the businesses that put up welcome biker signs when they are not!
What the hey, it's early in the morning and I'm not thinking yet! Need more caffeine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wayne Gray is a total scumbag for putting "Welcome Bikers" on his spring house sign, I mean what a hippocrite. To go and vote against the bikers and then ask for their money is dispicable and I hope the voters of MB see it and get him and the mayor out of office.

There was talk about MB annexing in caroling forest and hard rock theme park a few years back but it never went through. Conway has been aggressively annexing land over the past few years. I wouldn't be surprised if they go all the way out to the waterway and carolina forest.

Last fall when the new ordinances were still under development, I recall some concern expressed by the Chamber of "economic canibalism." Here it is in full flower. We see businesses outside MB city limits advertising the fact that they are NOT in Myrtle Beach. I wonder if there have ever been any businesses outside of Orlando that go out of their way to claim that they are NOT a part of Orlando?
We hear surrounding communities wanting to distance themselves from MB to the point of self-incorporation. We see other communities so enthusiastic to support the Mayor that they will only get behind him if they get a payoff.
Where is this supposed groundswell of support on the part of the local communities that we were told exists?

You'll never believe this, but an article recently showed up on my desk proclaiming him "citizen of the year" WTF!! These blue hairs need to lay off the hair dye, it's affecting their brains! Perhaps they forgot about the Fuddruckers parking lot thing a few years back....The blue hairs must be suffering from a collective case of alzheimers........
