What I find most interesting is the large number of SC and NC bikers going to Daytona and Panama Beach Florida for this years Bike Week. I guess thats the money you could be making. The Chamber of Commerce which helps promote the Daytona Rally estimates it is in excess of 650 MILLION Dollars. If your business in MB is down well then it suks to be you. But like the Mayor said. If you don't like it move. West of the ICW. Not a dime in 09 and Do It Again In 2010 www.thesunnews.com/weeklysurge/Ridin-with-Big-E/story/1321028.html

No matter HOW anyone looks at it, there is one factor that stands out when a comparison is made of Myrtle Beach to any other city that has/had a Harley Rally: NO OTHER CITY has/had a Harley Rally that was immediately followed by a MOSTLY NONmotorcycle-related, almost exclusively minority-participant MASS-PROBLEM riotous street party that called itself a "BikeFest" and could be used as a politically-correct COP-OUT to connect with the COMPLETELY SEPARATE/DIFFERENT/UNRELATED HARLEY Rally in order to attack AND RID ITSELF OF the NON-motorcycle event in a deceptive manner. That's EXACTLY what the situation is/was, and EXACTLY what the City of Myrtle Beach DID - instead of properly and courageously addressing the real problem.
The Spring Harley Rallies actually had very few problems - and they were ones that COULD have VERY EASILY BEEN RESOLVED, as proven EVERYWHERE ELSE.
But the City of Myrtle Beach CONCIOUSLY DECIDED to rid itself of the BIGGEST SINGLE TOURIST event of the year - one that that was MOST POSITIVE to the community overall - just to line their pockets with money and receive other favors from elitist local contributors whose only interest is NOT tourism, but in their own quiet and peaceful RESIDENCY.
Yet, the City of Myrtle Beach PUBLICLY BLAMES EVERYONE BUT ITSELF for its current predicament.

RangeVery well said ;D and it's the d**n truth I've been told the the NAACP won't stay around for bike fest to witness what really goes on because they're afraid of the TRUTH, just like MB is afraid of the NAACP Attachments:

...I've been told the the NAACP won't stay around for bike fest to witness what really goes on because they're afraid of the TRUTH, just like MB is afraid of the NAACP How VERY true in turn. The City of Myrtle Beach HAD right at its fingertips ALL KINDS of proof of the problems with "BikeFest", COMPLETELY separate from any concerns about Harley Rallies, TREMENDOUSLY SEVERE in contrast with Harley Rallies, etc, and ABSOLUTELY devoid of race as factors - in the form of videos, photos, unbiased witness testimony, participant behavior, statistics, etc. Instead of addressing these problems in that light - out of pure fear that they would be labeled "racist" for doing so regardless - they took the CLOSET RACIST way out. Which makes to EVERYONE - including City of Myrtle Beach officials and their Adolph Apologists - the statement that (black) Supreme Court Justice Donald Beatty made in the recent helmet ordinance hearing even more significant: "...but don't pretend like we don't know what's going on," Beatty said. "We read. We all know why the city [passed the rally ordinances]..."

Check out what the mayor of Panama City has to say during their spring bike week: www.uniflip.com/online-magazines/3/20810/36570/pub/Go to pages 10/11 and it is up in the top left side. She certainly likes to have the bikers there!!! P.S. so does the chief of police and the chamber of commerce, they are on those pages as well.

The articles by Panama City Mayor, C of C and the Chief of Police are really good and yes it would be nice to rub it in the MB mayors and C of C face but it wouldn't do any good as long as these folks are getting their collective pockets lined by the dune's crew. They're only in it for the fast buck and just don't give a cr@p what we have to say or how bad MB is hurting. The dunes crew will rule. How is it said Money talks Bu!!sh!t walks!! and we're walking.

I'll have to check my debris, I mean files for some of the "Official" MB rally propaganda from years gone by. I seem to recall almost the same glowing welcomes to the attendees of the Motorcycle rallies from the corresponding Myrtle Beach authorities just a few years ago.
It almost seems word for word in my recollection!
UGH!! Politician speak with forked tongue!!
