But I thought, according to Brad Dean, that things were so great this year, all those huge accomodations numbers. Tee hee hee.
From the Sun News today:
The Horry County Council agreed to shift around some funding priorities after learning that the Accommodations Tax returns for this year will be short of what was predicted.
At about $3.3 million in returns, the tax brought in about $350,000 less than the previous tax year, and about $600,000 less than was predicted. The council voted to eliminate beach renourishment funding and about $110,000 for a piece of police equipment that could be delayed until a future budget year.
Other projects that were lower on the priority list will be funded instead this year, but municipalities were warned that future lower A-Tax returns may prevent funding next year. The council agreed to shift $100,000 in Accommodations money from other priorities back into beach renourishment for the next five years.

Can't be. I thought they said all the families would return and the oxygen supply would be at risk.

Anyone know what the $110,000 police equipment was? They make it sound singular, like it was one item.
