Have not heard anything about it up this way.. If you read the article is say's " The gist of the city's arguments is that it has the right to do whatever it wants to do as long as it declares something to be a public nuisance"If that's all it takes, I declare that mayor rodent and the MB CoC are a public nuisance, does that mean we can kick them out of office? I know of no one else I can find other then NC in Cape Hatteras and I believe New Bern again altho that is not confirmed by me. The Outter Banks Rally has been extended to 1 week. In short there is no Rally here. Anytime someone is in town hit me up. Be well all and have a Merry Christmas

I stand corrected. Sunny Productions from Summerfield NC is promoting a Spring Rally at the Grand Strand. To date the HD Dealer and Festival Promotions are not. I would suggest contacting him for any information. Outti thanks for the info.

Either way, we are still coming down for the "spring rally". Now that we have relatives living in the area year round, it will give us an excuse to get down more often.

He is probably the 1 that got shafted the most in the demise of the rallies. I think we should have our own rallies, screw MB.

Sunny makes his money through the advertisers on his site. No Bike Week no money.Sunny says its on for the next three years. I wouldnt expect much when you get here. Under events nothing is listed. Called all the vendors I had cards for from last year and none are coming back. If you wish to come and enjoy the weather and open riding spaces then come and have fun. I am sure HB Spokes and Broken Spoke (Doyce) will probably do something altho it was pretty much break even for last year. Either way expect many less Bikes and less traffic so might even be a better time. Again I wouldn't expect a Rally.

I never thought that one man could stop a motorcycle rally that has been going for 60 some years, but he did. Then I read how nobody likes this mayor and all the income that was lost due to his new rules against certain tourist, but the guy gets elected for a second term. Now it seem the he has intimidated the SC supreme court into dragging their feet when it comes to the decision on the helmet law. If the decision comes after May 2010 that would help kill what is left of the rally. This guy sure seems to have the power. No matter the out come, the wife and I will be back in May for some warm weather riding and beach. Sure do miss some of our favorite spots inside the city but it will be do it again in 2010. Order up some hot weather for May 7-16 so we can thaw out after another Michigan winter. Make the best out of it.

I don't want to sound like I am apologizing for anyone, BUT particularly for the visitors from up north after a long cold winter The May weather here is still very nice, hotel rooms will probably be more available and less expensive. In fact most likely the business community should be more accommodating to motorcycle tourists than ever before.
The Saloons will be open and less crowded and traffic will be down. With a little luck the helmet issue will be over and those who wish to go without will be able to.
It won't be the same but a good time can still be had in spite of all that has happened.
As long as the wine & cheese festival does not get out of hand!
