References The Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics www.bls.gov/eag/eag.sc_myrtlebeach_msa.htmThe numbers are the unemployment rate for MB. They are broken down as high for the year and low for the year as compared to May 1998 high 7.4% low 2.3% May 2.3% 1999 high 7.1% low 2.2% May 2.4% 2000 high 4.9% low 2.7% May 3.1% 2001 high 6.1% low 4.2% May 4.3% 2002 high 7.6% low 4.2% May 4.2% 2003 high 7.7% low4.8% May 4.9% 2004 high 8.0% low 4.9% May 4.9% 2005 high8.0% low 4.6% May 4.8% 2006 high 7.4% low 4.7% May 4.8% 2007 high 6.8% low 4.0% May 4.0% 2008 high 9.5% low 5.3% May 5.5% The unemployment rate in May is consistently the lowest in MB.Guess the numbers tell the real story. Forcasters are predicting the unemployment rate to almost double to 14 % I cannot predict the impact from the Cities action but would suspect it will not be positive and add to these numbers. What I would really like to know is how much Bikers bring in the rest of the year. Or in this year how much they didn't.

Quote of the day... www.wsav.com/sav/news/state_regional/article/sc_leaders_lobby_for_i-73_funding_in_stimulus_package/8953/Myrtle Beach Mayor John Rhodes noted that even if the governor returned the money, South Carolinians would not get a break on future federal taxes that will be used to pay for the stimulus package.
“Sometimes Governor Sanford doesn’t think too well,“ Rhodes said. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The stimulus bill is filled with pork projects that will put yet another burden onto our children. Not that Mayor Rhodes cares, he is all about special interests.

There are so many existing roads that need attention not to mention the many County roads that are dirt and could use some pavement. I just do not see any immediate good this road will do for the people here in need. Sooner or later the bill comes due. And you are right. It is our children who will be paying the bill. What ever happened to living and governing responsible.

There are no mirrors in the Rhodes household, huh? No need. Seems unlikely there would be a reflection anyway.

There are no mirrors in the Rhodes household, huh? No need. Seems unlikely there would be a reflection anyway. Come on now, he's not tall enough to even try to see himself in a mirror. I believe he has a napoleon complex issue, maybe he needs to see a professional about this issue..... Toad is a textbook classic case of a man with a Napoleon complex (the condition of being small in stature but aggressively ambitious and seeking absolute control). Could someone tell The Toad, that "Ghost Town" is located in North Carolina. If they'll take him, I'm sure we can find a lot of contributors to fund his one-way ticket to "his idea" of the promise land.
