I am a bit concerned at the speed with which the Mayor's and the Chamber's disinformation campaign has spread from their "information website". It is incumbent on us all to spread the word as quickly and in as many ways as possible that the rallies are NOT cancelled and that the myrtlebeachbikerinfo.com website proclamation that they are is bogus. It is time to turn on the lights and watch the roaches of disinformation scatter. There are a variety of ways to combat this: 1. E-mail lists. Spread the word by forwarding Gary's open letter in all directions. 2. Newsite commentary... Every time you come across on online story picking up the AP thread, post comments with the truth and include a link to Gary's open letter from abate... That link is ibiker.org/abate_statement_on_s.html. 3. Motorcycle groups... spread the word within your own community and local clubs... hunt down their sites and post emails... ask them to likewise spread the word to all they know... 4. Biker magazines... if they have online sites send letters to the editors with the truth about what is happening... Use snail mail if necessary... 5. Post it Post it Post... everywhere you can think of. The more people pick up on it and spread it, the better. [glow=red,2,300]Coming soon: [/glow]A new website to complement iBiker.ORG. The new one will serve as a direct counterpoint to the propaganda site of the Mayor's, and will be intended to help focus energies specifically for the Spring Rally, Boycott Activities, and directly counter myrtlebeachbikerinfo.com. The domain names have been secured but we don't want to announce them until they are ready. Watch this space.

There is a listing of Topix Forums, by city, at this link: www.topix.net/cityStart a thread at a city of your choice and direct them here to get all the info, including all the links we've posted here. We can also answer questions and concerns directly. Straight up answers from local bikers! The other links can't do that.

Hey Geezer, welcome back! Here's hoping your connect problems have been slain. What did the trick, or do we know? In any event, thanks for the link! A great article. -p

Thank you and you're welcome. I thought it was a good article, too. I've passed it along to a lot of people and asked them to do the same.
I'm not sure about my problems getting into here. I have to come in through the side door to keep from getting the boot. Funny thing, the boot is Squeaky's size. Hmmmmmm........
Anyway, I'm here, boot prints and all.

Now Geez, you know the boots (and fangs) only come out for those who don't show manners. I don't tolerate disrespect very well. (I sent Freebird the link on the old forum concerning his lil buddy, NicePerson!)

Okay, I've posted on some of the Topix sites in different states and I've had a lot of responses (not all positive, of course!)
But, a few have said they'd pass the info on to friends and family.
I've referred them to ibiker because our home page has a plethora of information. And, as local bikers, our members can answer questions directly. Gives them more of a personal experience and, perhaps, we'll get more of them here for the Spring Rally.

My brother emailed about making this year's reservations at Lakewood Campground for the Spring Rally. This is part of the response that they gave him:
"Lakewood will still be allowing motorcycles in the campground during the Bike Rallies. We are outside the city limits of Myrtle Beach. Thank you for your interest and please contact our reservation department at 1-877-LAKEWOOD."

Hey all, hope everyone is doing well. sorry I've been out of touch for so long. I'm doing my part spreading the word here in the DC/Baltimore area, amking sure everyone knows that the Rallies are still on and that everyone needs to show up in force and not spend a dime in MB. BTW, what happened with the Fall rally? I thought that was supposedly still welcome since it was a smaller scale? I guess Mayor Toads and the clowncil are trying to sneak that one in on everyone now too. Too bad they can't sem to remember what lies they tell to who! Be safe and keep the rubber on the road!

Bob, keep spreading the word amigo! We keep hearing reports from people who have bought in to the Mayor's propaganda and lies about the rallies being cancelled.

I just spoke with Tonya Root at the SunNews about the discussion board. She said the newspaper has changed over from (MyrtleBeachonline) to (Sunnews.com) and the posting board is temporary off line, but will be back up and running soon....

Evening all, I was just over at HDForums and someone posted the letter from the mayor. I had to read it a few times, then it dawned on me. He is no longer stating that they cancelled the rally but will not host it within the city.
I went to the city site and they have toned down their rhetoric. Everybody should go and check it out. It is kind of interesting.
