The easiest way to accomplish this is to be based out of Charlotte but also have businesses in MB and other places. You then keep a boat at a place like the Dunes Club for voting purposes and you run your various businesses from an RV. Sooooo if I wanted to know who Fab is I would look for the pieces of the puzzle.

I think Prefab got scared after something I posted to him not too long ago.
He brought up about defamation on Internet forums. I explained what various court precedents have generally established. I told him that HE would almost definitely NOT be able to claim defamation AGAINST HIM for any posted content about him - as he is merely an anonymous poster who has not made his actual identity known to any known and/or a significant number of forum readers. Thus, he absolutely cannot claim any "damages" nor "harm to his character" - as no one can connect the posted content to the real person.
HOWEVER, I (and quite a few others on these local forums) am rather well known IN PERSON and/or close mutual association by quite a few participants and readers of said forums through an association of our posting "screen names" to our actual identities. Thus, at least a significant number of persons who read any particular forum would know me - and many other participants - both by our forum identity and real name/identity. Thus, we ABSOLUTELY CAN claim ACTUAL "DAMAGES" and/or "harm to our character" - as any attack on the forum identity can be directly and correctly associated with the real person behind that Internet identity.
Prefab seemed to be VERY cautious after I posted that - and he surely (and correctly) realizes that I know EXACTLY what I am talking about. This all brings up a personal observation regarding this whole lawsuit/defamation issue. The Chamber of Commerce can indeed pursue anything it can adequately establish as defamation - as the Chamber of Commerce as an entity, and the staff behind it, are publicly identifiable. Even if they posted on a forum under a screen name, if persons knew that screen name to be the Chamber of Commerce, the chamber/staff can claim damages, etc under defamation laws/torts.
Any of us on these forums who is defamed under our screen name - AND has a significant number of persons who know the real identity of the person behind that screen name - can likely pursue defamation actions.
But someone like Prefab, who does NOT reveal his actual identity, simply cannot CLAIM defamation against HIM. If at some point he DOES reveal his real identity, or it is otherwise accurately revealed, THEN he could probably claim defamation where it applies FROM THAT POINT FORWARD. He could NOT seek defamation for posts PRIOR to his "outing" under ex post facto considerations.
In other words - HE has to be VERY careful what HE says to/about most of US, but HE can't do much about what WE say to/about HIM in most instances... and he now knows that.

Well, well. We were told they needed the 1% tax for funding because the State wouldnt fund tourism. So they pass the tax then the State funded it with our previous tax money as well. So they really got all the money and a new tax and the taxpayers get the bill. Boy did we call this one right. Is anybody else feeling used. All the locals have to pay this new tax all year. Rhodes and crew pulled the wool right over the eyes of the residents. whats interesting is how they started to borrow money as soon as they passed the 1 cent tax. Looks like they are going to get their pet projects started before election time.

I hope our tax money isn't being used to fund this ridiculous lawsuit. It's the Sun News website for crying out loud, it's not like it's even a creditable news source.

MB Chamber files lawsuit against internet blogger
Posted: Sep 08, 2009 9:33 PM EDT Updated: Sep 08, 2009 9:41 PM EDT
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - An attorney for the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce says the organization is taking legal action against a blogger who posted false information on The Sun News website.
Franklin Daniels, attorney for the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce says the organization has filed a lawsuit against the blogger posting on the local newspaper's website under the name "Elmer Fudd."
The lawsuit, according to Daniels, claims the blogger publicly reflected the chamber in a bad light by posting false and inaccurate statements on the organization. The blogger claimed in a blog post the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce was being raided by the Horry County Police Department and computers were being seized from the chamber's building and two other hotel properties.
As a result of the false claims, several local news agencies contact the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce, the two hotels listed and the Horry County Police Department to check the legitimacy of the claims.
Daniels says the events never took place and has since caused the organization reputational harm.
Those working on the case say the identity of "Elmer Fudd" is currently unknown. Subpoenas, however, have been issued and an investigation is now underway by local law enforcement agencies to track down the blogger.
Criminal charges, officials say, could be pressed once the identity of the blogger is discovered.
The Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce has declined comment.

Elmer responds to the lawsuit. www.thesunnews.com/business/story/1058394.html?storylink=pluck_commentedMr_Elmer_Fudd wrote on September, 9 8:08 AM: Good morning everyone-it's Elmer Fudd. The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) has more important things to worry about than me asking questions. I believe in our Constitution and our Freedom of Speech. The real story- which is coming out- involves the court-ordered investigations of the MBACC and prominent business owner's hard drives, email, etc. MBACC was in arbitration over these issues recently. They will have to explain their policies regarding the restrait of trade and fair competition. This is the same group of people who orchestrated the $205 million 1% Ad TAX and "its passage through Myrtle Beach City Council." I'll ask a few more questions. Is the press going to report what happened surrounding the deadline (Monday, Sept. 7th at 5:00 pm) to produce the court-ordered information to a local law firm? What was turned in? Hard drives? Emails? Phone logs? Those wascally wabbits!

Hey, this is getting interesting Why would an "organization" like the MBACC want to sue someone posting a comment about them on the internet? They will surely be made the laughing stock of the COUNTRY, not the COUNTY! If that is the case, then all the jokes about other "organizations" would be regarded as defamation of character, or so I would think.

Sounds to me like Mr. Fudd has a little more knowledge on this subject than the old Sun News and the MB Chamber think. Certainly doesn't sound like some crackpot? Sounds like he's got some very good sources?
