Today around noon I saw three riders on cruiser style bikes turn into the Grand Mall from the bypass. No hard hats being worn. I couldn't see if their plates were local or not. Looks as though the gauntlet is being thrown down, this may be a very interesting rally. Welcome to ibiker! I witnessed helmetless riders at the intersection 10th & 17 bypass. This is happening more & more. DANG WORK SCHEDULE To all attending the "Grand Strand Fall Rally", have a great time and we will be thinking, and crying, about you all. Have fun and be safe. Ride Free And PROUD

Went for a bike ride today, just after noon. Admittedly early in the festivities. Ocean Blvd hotels parking lots looked mighty bare to say the least. Not a lot of bikes out and about anywhere. The main HD dealership had a goodly number of bikes, looked like the front lot was about 2/3 full. SBB original looked to be pretty busy as well (from the road). The Beaver bar lot seemed about half full to my eye. SBB four corners looked like a ghost town, A sign on the front indicated "Vendors Inside"
I did not check Broadway ATB or Barefoot landing.

Went for another ride about 3pm today. Most places looked about the same as yesterday. SBB four corners had come alive, still not packed but a good number of bikes parked. I got followed for a long ways on Ocean Blvd thru the middle of town probably because I was about the only MC on the road(nothing to worry about with my Airhead) I think they gave up in disgust. Almost NO bikes on OB to speak of.
I did see what I thought was a boss hoss, but was not. I think it had a Corvair flat six, 3 pipes to a side, fine looking machine lots of Chrome and a super paint job.
Much increased bike traffic on the business and bypass SOUTH of MB only a minority was seen to go into MB. looked as tho the turn around by MB state park was getting a record amount of traffic.

My Report for the day... I had to work today so I spent my day on Ocean Blvd. at about the 21st Ave intersection. I could have counted on one hand the number of bikes that I saw. The ones I did see seemed to either be curious or clueless. At about 6:45 a.m. I drove the Blvd. to get a feel for the Hotel/Biker occupancy rate (in my TRUCK!) and to be completely honest. It was ZERO.ZERO! When I left my Resort at 4:30, I did see one guy pulling out of a parking garage. I cussed him out! At about 5:15 p.m. I pulled into Spokes and was pleased to see a rather decent (Fall Rally) crowd. Anyone that I've spoken with gives me the sense that the crowds are decent sized and they're staying out of the City. PERFECT! Enjoy the evening all... Ride free. Frog

The Sun News is showing no bikes but I will tell you this place is packed with bikes. I will be putting the pictures up after the Rally. It is hard to get into Cooters, Beaver, SBB, Dead Dog and the resturants in MI are packed as well. Be well all.

In today's rag the Un-News tells of vendors crying over their losses. Focused on the Harley shop, Rat's Hole , Iron Gate and Broken Spoke. In the Spring, those are typically hotspots. I don't ever recall them being real busy in the Fall. So once again, the local media has spun things to look like the bikers are gone. Little do they know...

They will know when the pictures are put up on the site. This is a very busy Rally. More so then I thought it would be. Going to ride on the City today. Like the Geico commercial. This is the money you could be makin..... You have to lid up to get to the Rat Hole. Most are saying Fee Fi Fo FUMB
