If the Helmet law gets tossed that has nothing to do with the state of affairs in the City, it only shoves the Helmet Ordinance up Mayor Rhodes, City Council and Tom Ellenburg's butt! There's still 14 other ordinances and restrictions on vendor permits within the City limits during the Rallies.

There is another poll www.wmbfnews.com. It is on their homepage: South Carolina State Court is set to hear BOOST's challenge to the local helmet law. Do you think bikers should have to wear helmets in Myrtle Beach, or do you think they should be able to ride free?

At the moment I don't see me spending there ever again. They did too much, too long, too wrong.

Do you think bikers should have to wear helmets in Myrtle Beach, or do you think they should be able to ride free? I saw that on their news, and think they are missing the point if they are attempting to relate their specific question to the upcoming lawsuits. The question is NOT what people's opinions are one way or the other regarding "if they should have to wear helmets in Myrtle Beach" - but whether the City of Myrtle Beach exceeded their power and are in violation of state law in imposing such a requirement. Secondary to that - and what would also make a better question - is if people feel the City of Myrtle Beach's actions were done solely to prevent/deter bikers from coming to Myrtle Beach. I'd like to see THAT question asked of the general public.

Agreed Range - The fact that they exceeded their powers with these ordinances has not once been mentioned by any of the media outlets.
One side note - I snarfed my coffee when the "Honorable" John Rhodes was mentioned in the brief. I know that it is just a title, but can anybody really refer to him as honorable while keeping a straight face??

They may be avoiding asking the right questions locally, but the rest of the world isn't avoiding the real questions.. Gotta love the internet and the strong bond of the biking community for keeping the truth out there. I see someone from Canada posting repeatedly on some other sites. Guess the next ordinance will be for them to put a lid on the internet too. Seems they think they can do anything they want, so it wouldn't surprise me.

Beach you are soooo right, This IMHO will set the stage for the future of MB. I am a positive person, I feel the State supreme court will over turn the helmet law. Then we can all meet at the fall rally and rub it in Mayor Toads and his Clowncil faces just before they are replaced.
