So much in this article irritates me.
BUT, on the lighter side, it does show his new wife "might" have a daughter the age of the girl who appeared in the "My daddy is the mayor of MB video. ;D ;D

Congratulations to Myrtle Beach mayor John Rhodes and his new wife, Terri.
John and Terri were married recently by North Myrtle Beach mayor Marilyn Hatley. The reception was held at Terri’s mother’s home and was limited to a small family gathering.
“It was a big week for me. I got my first social security check on Thursday and was married on Saturday,” said John Rhodes.
The wedding ended a long period in which they each thought they would not marry again.
Each owned their own home, but they recently purchased a home together in which they will live.
“I was divorced for 20 years and said I would never get married again,” said John Rhodes.
Terri, divorced 19 years ago as the mother of three small children also said she “never thought she would get married again.”
However, they first started dating 16 years ago and attitudes and circumstances changed through the long relationship.
“You get to the age where you start questioning whether you want to be alone or have somebody around to share things with,” said John.
A common interest in sports is one of the important links the Rhodeses share. John is the longtime executive director of the Beach Ball Classic. Terri is passionate about tennis although she said she does not play anymore, but is also a confirmed basketball junkie.
“This wouldn’t work without Terri being a sports fan,” said John.
Rhodes has often said his number one priority as mayor is to be an ambassador for Myrtle Beach.
Terri also knows about spreading the word about the city, having been Miss Myrtle Beach in 1976 and Miss Sun Fun in 1977.
“In those years, you worked for the Chamber for a year, going all over the country promoting Myrtle Beach,” Terri said.
Both have significant backgrounds in the hospitality industry. Terri’s parents owned and operated Tony’s Italian Restaurant in North Myrtle Beach.
She also spent many years as a radio personality on Mix 97.7 and at WRNN.
John first came to Myrtle Beach for a summer job and never went home. He managed several hotels before taking over the Gullyfield Restaurant until it closed.
“We both remember Myrtle Beach from the time that you rolled up the sidewalks after Labor Day,” said Terri. “We worked hard for three months a year and depended on each other during the other nine months.”
While the town has changed, their passion for it has not.
Both said welcoming groups to the city and attending other functions takes many nights, but they continue to enjoy it.
Rhodes said he will seek election to a second term in December 2009 and looks forward to serving the city for another four years.
“Myrtle Beach is a great place to visit and an even better one to live in,” said John. “I truly enjoy representing the city I love and being with the woman I love.”
