Amazing. Even tho the City owned Convention Center does not allow outside vendors Brad Dean of the Chamber of Comedy got the Mayor ( City ) to break the rules and allow a non licensed un named vendor to cater the event that many got sick and could have died. Who's palm did the Mayor (City) grease. They ain't sayin. You just cant make this stuff up. Glad people just got sick. www.carolinalive.com/news/news_story.aspx?id=307272

The article states The Chamber signed a contract with the City Owned Convention Center and then struck a deal to bring in their own food. Now this just doesn't sound legal to me.

And broken and bent laws and rules are unexpected by this group,,,,,,,,,,, why? Maybe they think of it as "guidelines" not rules and laws.

The cynic in me can't help wondering if the outside sourcing of the food was a way of skirting FEC regulations concerning illegal campaign contributions. Given the apparent food poisoning(?), it certainly wasn't because the food was so red hot. Reminds me of how some politicians will write a book that no one buys, but then all of a sudden they will sell truckloads of them at campaign functions...
