Well here we go again. I'm sure this story will also get picked up by the NY Times, as MB Leaders once again make it clear to all that tourists aren't welcomed in MB anymore - they are harassed! Seems the MBPD conducted the first ever police check point (during a rally) on Ocean Blvd today and they're planning more of these fun filled actives Looks like there are 2 Check points planned for Hwy 501 on Friday and Saturday ....WTF?? Pack a lunch, it's going to be a parking lot on those days. I surely hope Biff and Buffy take another route into MB Proper, if not they might get a little ticked off sitting in all that traffic....and dear God...they might actually see a biker!!!! Here's the list in case the UnNews removes the story.... More checkpoints are planned: - 10 a.m. to noon Thursday on Farrow Parkway at Warbird Park
- 10 a.m. to noon Friday on U.S. 501
- 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 501

Here`s another unwelcome mat; Myrtle Beach officials say their not behind this but we all know what a bunch of liars they are. www.wmbfnews.com/global/story.asp?s=10351697Well here we go again. As I posted in response on another forum: I hope the affected vendors seek legal counsel to determine* if they can make claim that, when the HORRY COUNTY government granted the vendor permit for their venue, THEY AUTHORIZED the activity. It would thus be a situation whereby a LOCAL government sanctioned something that was in contrast with STATE law. Something like: the concept that the City of Myrtle Beach has used to require helmets - in DIRECT contrast and defiance of STATE law? It would be a quite INTERESTING defense by these vendors - and one that could have a possible RELATED IMPACT on Myrtle Beach's controversial helmet law... * = I say "to determine" as there may be exclusions or other legalese in the permit documentation that prevents such claims against the county, etc... ============================================== By the way, I took the following 3 photos around noon yesterday (Tuesday, May 12) as I was leaving the Broken Spoke. These photos show a group of persons whom I suspected as being either county or state inspectors (most likely STATE) entering the Broken Spokes grounds, ready for business - note the clipboards. Also note how they immediately and methodically disperse to conduct each official's business (likely predetermined) at hand. i68.photobucket.com/albums/i26/Beachbiker/HD%20rallies/IMG_1555.jpgi68.photobucket.com/albums/i26/Beachbiker/HD%20rallies/IMG_1556.jpgi68.photobucket.com/albums/i26/Beachbiker/HD%20rallies/IMG_1557.jpgThis indicates to me, folks, that they were prepared with a specific plan for each venue's inspection. The question is - "WHO initiated and helped them do this"?

Range Man you are right. All of a sudden they start going in different directions towards different things. All looking at a targeted area and heading that way the shortest route. NO WAY that is City. Way too professional and precise. They are all about business...Gotta respect that...

Yes I did, they were checking permits. Trying to justify their overpayed jobs. Doyce has been catching grief for weeks.I'm sure our county officials had a hand in the IRS being there.

I knew he was having problems with when he could open and other things. The County altho better then the City has not been easy to work with. We need some new leadership on that Council as well. Again thanks for the info

They have even lied to the judges in the courtroom. They continue to lie to the residents with their 1% tax that now states (and/or) when referring to tax cut or giving the money to the Chamber of Comedy. They are pathetic. My information this time is just that it wasn't them. But hey they blame bikers for everything but Global Warming so maybe they put them up to it. Hee Hee ;D

You know it's said in the business world, for every one customer that's not happy with your business, they tell 10 of their friends, who in turn tell 10 of their friends, and so on.
I hope all of the harassed tourists visiting MB will spread the word when they get back home.
This abuse of office needs to come to an end.

Seaside, you are so right. I herd some cager tourists commenting on that on tuesday. Said they felt harrassed and would not come back and would warn their friends not to either. MBPD and their checkpoints are going to help the boycott. i wonder if the officers at the enforcement level are more on our side than we think.
