I was talking with McBride the other day, as I was pleased with what he had to say Re: the new tax and that he would not support them , that he would rather pass it on to tourists instead of the locals. Now I know that a lot of you are soured on his comment that he made a few years ago. I guess I've said a few things in the past that I've regretted too. But consider this , is he a better choice than The Rhodent? MB was in awesome shape when he was mayor. He already knows the job.

I`m betting McBride will run again in November and that may not be a bad idea considering the Mayor Myrtle Beach has now. If Mark McBride were to run for mayor and win, wouldn't it be ironic that a biker issue got him voted out and another biker issue got him voted back in?

When McBride was mayor, he said that he and his family was behind a biker at a stoplight and the biker was wearing a shirt with something on it that was offensive. He didn't want his daughter to see it and it upset him. He stated that he would like to have nudged the biker with his car.

I am new to the forum so i will be short on this subject. As a resident of this city, I cannot support Mark Mcbride for mayor. We need new people to run this city, not the same old ones. We have to come up with people who have common sense and the ablity to manage and know right from wrong. I will say, though, if we don't come up with people soon it will be too late because after the city council votes in that 15 million dollar tax raise, the chamber will spare no expense to keep the current city council in place. It is going to take a lot of money to get these people out of office.

At least with Mark you always knew where you stood. He always spoke his mind, which got him into trouble sometimes. But he wasn't sneaking around sucking up to biker groups to get elected and then totally turning on them when he got into office...

I don't think you'll have to worry about a candidate for Mayor this year. I'm sure that BOOST will come up with someone that will support the bikers plus people to fill I believe 3 council positions available. Over 500 BOOST members plus many of their employees and city residents such as myself could turn the City of Myrtle Beach around back to a tourist town like it once was (and bikers are tourist).

Beachbikers1 and bird both need to run for open positions. Bird would have to rent a place in town though ;D

Someone speaking their mind and being who they are is always better than those who pose to get there and then turn face for their personal interist. At least if they always speak their mind you know who they are and what they are about. Would rather see an honest politician with a tainted past than a snake in the grass, specially one who turnes out to be lower than a toads a$$

My first day as Mayor I would get rid of all of the new ordinances. Next I would pass a new ordinance that all helmets are to be turned into beer buckets. Next new ordinance would be all motorcycles will have the right of way all the time. MB Motorcycle Police cite any drivers that drive unsafe around motorcycles in city limits. Motorcyclist get seated fist at Earlybird Specials. And that's just a beginning! ;D

It would either be very good for the city or a continuance of the three stooges

It's already come back to me through several city employees that a few MB officials are concerned I'll run for an office later this year.
Let them sweat while I still consider it...
