Just want to remind everyone who prompted the 1% tax increase in the Myrtle Beach area. Most people think it's the local politicians but guess again! Here is a quote from Mayor Rhodes State of the City Address:
"Let me say a few words about the one-cent sales tax for tourism marketing. This is my idea and I support it."
Once again he's trying to make up for another tourist group he has kicked out of Myrtle Beach! There has been allot of improvements around the City but the tourists have been driven off but these improvements are being enjoyed by the locals, but that isn't where the money is Mayor Dummy. If he think he can live off the locals he's in the wrong place, this is a tourist town that needs economic growth and promotion by satisfaction. We need a Mayor that will make Myrtle Beach function again!

Does the Mayor have any kind of Business back ground? ? For Gods Sake man Do the math. He thinks he is a king, Telling residents if you do like it Move, These are the people that pay him. He forgets that he serves at their pleasure. What is going to do when the tourist stop coming and the residents all move out? Raise Taxes??? Where did he Come from anyway?? I think I am going to call Johnboy and Billy, I bet they would have a field day with his behind.

Does the Mayor have any kind of Business back ground? ?... From a recent Myrtle Beach Herald article: www.myrtlebeachherald.com/link.asp?smenu=1&twindow=&sdetail=10707"...John is the longtime executive director of the Beach Ball Classic..." Where OTHER people do most of the work - and in which he conspires with the City of Myrtle Beach to use the MB Convention Center for FREE - a real loss to the TAXPAYERS of the City of Myrtle Beach. "...Rhodes has often said his number one priority as mayor is to be an ambassador for Myrtle Beach..."That SHOULD be displayed as " amb ador"! "...John first came to Myrtle Beach for a summer job and never went home. He managed several hotels before taking over the Gullyfield Restaurant until it closed..."I also believe they are all LONG AGO out of business. Case closed!

Here chew on this! BOOST business owners complain that the Mayor and City are practicing what the group calls “selective tourism,” spending tax dollars to drive some tourists away and to attract others. As an example, they point to Rhodes’ own preference for high school basketball players and teams. He is the owner of the nationally-known Beach Ball Classic High School Basketball Tournament. While bikers and biker-friendly businesses are being targeted, Rhodes is not only paid $41,460 to perform his duties as Mayor, but some $50,000+ more in Accommodations Tax Revenues annually ... along with and tens of thousands of dollars in rent-free use of the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

3 taxes in one year. I must say that I will bet that some A/R people will be changing sides. I am guessing a lot of those people thought the taxes would STOP at the 3 mill increase and everything would be honky-dorky. Now they are finding out that the 3 mill increase was just the beginning.
who did that one tax song that was sort of famous? You know me, CRS!!!!!

Is Tom Rice somehow associated with a real estate broker there? I'll bet he is in the cahoots with more than one. If you know what I mean. You know the "B"oys and the "C"hoir.
