I stop by almost every day but seems like most have moved on. Too bad, that mayor said he was going to stop the rally, and he did. We will be down the week of the ex-rally but again we will take the bypass around the city. Freebird, keep us out of staters posted on any new info we should be aware of, sure don't need to be hassled on vacation. Think Spring!

I also check in a few times a day - just haven't had anything to really bring up, although... I speak with a lot of local folks of all kinds. The vast majority said or agree that as long as the AB "BikeFest" is curbed from the massive problems that IT caused, they'd have absolutely no problems with any Harley Rallies returning as a bigger event as long as it is held like any other organized/sponsored/etc local community festival or activity - and TREATED like any other local event by any local government's (especially City of Myrtle Beach) regulations, promotion as a local event, etc. More than one of our city officials I've spoke with are included as claiming that attitude - but there are reasons they can't act on anything going that direction yet. However, the current federal investigation outcome, coupled with the next local elections, may end up removing some obstacles...

Like others, I stick my head in here every couple weeks to see if anything is going on I would liketo be aware of. I also glance at the Sun News for the same reason. The group we ride with now goes to Panama City and Daytona routinely. It used to be MB was automatic twice a year, and other places were a random visit. This year I think everyone is looking at Daytona, and saving money for Sturgis.
From Myrtle Beach, we still have the memories, and the pictures to prove it, and they still bring a smile to our faces. Maybe someday when Rhodes and company are gone......
Best wishes everyone.

The city needs to send a thank you letter to BP for the disaster in the gulf. This place would have been a ghost town if it wasn't for the Florida tourists.
Read in the paper that there are still 300 slots open for the Myrtle Beach marathon. Guess a lot of people decided not to return after last year's botched marathon.
I have a real problem with the city pretending that the memorial day crowd isn't going to show up. Last year they (Rhodes) told everyone the event was canceled, and the memorial day crowd still showed up. I'm certain they will be back in larger numbers this year.

Actually, they added hundreds of spots to the marathon this year so even if it doesn't sell out it will actually still grow. Adding the spots is actually what pissed me off last year. They made that big thing about giving 50% off to the next years event to those they screwed over after keeping their money, but then they added hundreds of spots to basically make up the money so in reality they lost nothing.

Is there even anyone using this website anymore? Seems to get a post a month. I come on every once in awhile but thats about it. I bought some property in Bonneau Beach and find the locals are right friendly there. Gilligans on Tail Race Canal has awesome food. I do nothing in MB anymore and do not miss it. I seldom read the Sun News. No time for petty people from MB. Anotherwards DILLIGAF. Be well all. The Rally has been moved to Panama ;D

Too little controversy to keep things rolling here. The officials have done their best against us & now things have just settled down to a dull roar. Their just isn't much about the rallies that hasn't been discussed here to the nth degree.
It seems as though the city has turned it's short attention span to other things and I am thankful for it. I do wonder if the border crossing type checkpoints will once again appear for rush-hour on Rt 501?
