Multiple media outlets reported two bikers were killed after a wreck in Mount Pleasant late Tuesday morning when they were struck from behind by a sports utility vehicle. Charleston County Deputy Coroner Kelly Myers says 80-year-old James Doucette of Port Charlotte, Fla., and 50-year-old James Hines from Yaphank, N.Y., died. Mount Pleasant Police Capt. Carl Ritchie says the men had been in the Myrtle Beach area for Bike Week and decided to come to Charleston for the day. Ritchie says they had stopped in traffic on U.S. 17 when they were struck by the SUV, which pushed them into the back of another vehicle. Sounds like another hammer & Anvil just like in Phoenix some weeks ago. Hit from behind while stopped for a signal & pushed into vehicle(s) stopped ahead.
I almost got rear ended on Atlantic at the business 17 traffic signal. I had the gall to stop on Red and delay this J. A.. Some middle aged guy with gray hair in a small SUV. I guess he was in a hurry for something.
