This is total BS. They should announce their decision. When they hold out this long it makes people wonder if they're being bought off. Like that would be a big surprise. The State legislature should go ahead and fix this once and for all. If you are 21 years old or older you are not required to wear a helmet!!!

Now its been ten weeks and no word. Its only three more weeks until the rally or whats left of the rally. Maybe they are waiting until June 1st that way bike month will be over.

I heard from some city folks that I work for that the high court wasn't going to announce their decision until after the rally? Maybe not true but just what I heard.

IF ITS TRUE , THEY WONT ANNOUNCE THE VERDICT TIL AFTER THE RALLY (OR WHATS LEFT OF IT) DO YOU THINK THEY MIGHT OVERTURN IT?

As 08bagger said, if they wait until after the "rally", that would tell me that they intentionally did it to please someone else. Again, this is just the way that I, a simple person, am looking at it. Sure, the decision might be harsh for the city, but jeesh, 3 months before ruling on it and so conveniently AFTER the "rally"?

I am beginning to think we do not need front doors on the houses down here because everything comes and goes through the back door.

Maybe they are going to rule against the city but made a deal with them that they would not announce it until afterwards to avoid a mad rush of bikers back to MB? Yeah...Right! Like that's ever gonna happen.

Also take into consideration that the SC Supreme Court has investigative arms and an Office of Disciplinary Counsel.
Noting that the City of Myrtle Beach has placed itself into a quagmire regarding the prosecution of helmet law tickets - its intended "Administrative Court" was declared to be "unconstitutional and repugnant" by Chief Justice opinion, and the city apparently cannot now legally prosecute the existing issued tickets as per the SC Code of Laws and tenants of SC judiciary - there MAY very likely be MORE to this situation than just a simple matter of the SC Court making the determination & issued opinion whether or not the helmet law itself should stand. Also note that city-representative attorney Mike Battle got caught in and basically admitted an outright lie during his presentation hearing directly TO the Supreme Court, with harsh stated reactions by several SC Supreme Justices at that time.
All this (and more) combined could indicate that there MAY be some OTHER SC Supreme Court actions in the background, and I've no doubt the City of Myrtle Beach surely suspects or outright knows that by now...

I find it odd that a decision has not been handed down yet.
