Well you have to admit, Mayor John is giving it to everyone straight. They have tried hard but have so far been largely un successful to bring in any substantial numbers of tourists. It is rather quiet tho.

The mayor is a little slow. Every one on this site said he could not get the numbers to replace the bikers in May a year ago.

"NUMBERS" don't/won't mean much of anything. For the MOST part, these new events will attract mostly LOCALS. People who will NOT stay in hotels/lodging, WILL eat at home, will NOT spend much money at all at other area attractions, etc. The HARLEY Rallies attracted mostly OUT-OF-TOWN tourists. People who paid really good money for LODGING, FOOD, ENTERTAINMENT, etc. People who came back OTHER times of the year for family vacations, to stay at their 2nd homes/condos, etc. People who USED TO RECOMMEND/ENCOURAGE friends, relatives, & co-workers to visit and/or have their conventions/reunions/other gatherings here. Basically, "NUMBERS" are actually rather WORTHLESS when contrasting/comparing these new events versus the lost previous tourism. But you absolutely will NOT hear that from any local officials. They will MISREPRESENT any MEANINGFUL attendance comparisons with NUMBERS. All you WILL hear is "numbers", "numbers", "numbers". WORTHLESS numbers...
