... Selective Metering...Downtown only Where are new shiny black meters for Market Commons Why picking on Downtown Busnesses only As I posted in a response to the Sun News article about this topic: "This was discussed by the city officials last year, and they publicly said they would "revisit" the issue early THIS year.
As I mentioned in a post a few weeks ago, I heard that parking meter consideration at Market Common was recently brought up among city officials and quickly dismissed. In fact, a friend who lives in one of those upstairs units in the main Market Common business district told me he asked 2 city councilpersons about this at a recent community function. He told me one of them responded to the effect of "that's a dead issue right now, we have enough to worry about now as it is" and quickly dropped the subject. "

While I dont blame the City for having events at Market Commons one could easily point out some glaring short comings. First and foremost rest stop style restrooms should have been included in the original cost or at a minimum put them in now. How cheesy is that smell of Porta Potti and the rudamentary accutraments. However compared to what is down town.....Well......

They want to promote all events at Market Common, the new baby. With all that I hear and read about everything in MB, it is the MOST MISMANAGED city in the US. How can the people sit back and watch as their elected officials allow the city to sink even more into he!! before they do something about it. This once prosperous TOURIST town is now not much better than a ghetto!!!! It seems that all rodent and the clowncil do is band aid fixes. I hear that the chamber is running those lame commercials about how nice MB is as far north as Detroit, almost begging people to come!!!!! Attachments:

Last week on tv here in Pa., they had a commercial on and it showed a wooden roller coaster! Didn't that disappear with the pavilion? They also had a shot of the roller coaster from fmp! You talk about lying to the public!

They were running the same adds non stop in the Florida Keys. The comments the tourists made were leaving the Keys to go to MB is kinda like retiring up North. Why. We have everything and more in Florida. I was at a very exclusive gated community and noticed a lot of Ontario tags. A lot told me they used to go to MB but now prefer the Keys. A bit more expensive but little crime and the weather is better over the winter. MB is loosing on all fronts. But that means a bonanza of investment opportunity in a couple of years when they hit bottom. ;D ;D
