Whats going on with biker community , nobody fighting against this stupid helmet ord anymore .... Well we need to get back to issue that concerns bikers which is helmets .. I said months ago that bikers would help business owners but would business owners help bikers , well answer seems to be no , nobody is doing anything to keep fight alive against what should BE MAIN concern you as biker HELMETS ... Lets get back to the real fight now ... Write those letters to State Officials and ring those phones off hook and back up their emails with complaints ..Or don't do anything and let this go on to become State Law which city is getting ready to send paper work to State for all rider helmet law in SC ....

I respectfully disagree. The majority of the business community has joined BOOST and has done much. First they were willing to stand in the face of enormous money and influence. They have taken many shots because of their stance on supporting Bike Week and it is in their mission statement. Their lawsuit filed by their attorney Thad Vier's is still pending in the courts. We knew as the Take Back May crowd that this would or could take years to work out but got it on the fast track and financed the suit. The City asked for an extension which was granted by the Supreme Court and that is not the fault of the business community. Don Emery has suits pending as well. It is Mike Shank ( representative for the HD shop ) that dropped his suits. Hummmmm. Can you say sold down the river. I also disagree that the helmet laws is the most pressing issue we have. In my opinion the most pressing issues is fair representation and until the B&C,Brittan,Benton crowd is out of politics little will change here. CLEEN SWEEP Be well my friend.

Sorry should have said a few businesses have helped BUT you no just as well as I do that the bikers , ourselves need to stand and fight ... Everyone needs to make their calls , emails, letters , letters and calls can not be deleted as easy so used them make your voices heard and concerns known .... MB City and Chamber of Commerce are or have already not sure going to check , is submitting paperwork to get State Wide Alll Rider Helmet Law right now so its time for us to regain what State has already gave us over 21 Right To Decide .....

I agree. There will be much pressure for a State Wide helmet law this year and we need to be very vigilant on a State level. Tracy Edge will promote this and we must not get complacent. Otherwise we will loose what we have been able to do. This war will not go away soon and I fear that our independent streak and the just want to be left alone attitude a lot of us have will work against us long term. I said it before and will say it again. If it happens in MB then it will spread everywhere. NOT IN MY HOUSE....... Cleen Sweep

We are stronger together I've tried to get info on the case but to no avail.. Here are the responses.... Best read from bottom to top........ ______________________________________________________ I wouldn't. You may be able to find out by contacting the clerk's office at the Supreme Court. The court's telephone number is 803-734-1040. Bob McCurdy -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Sent: Friday, August 07, 2009 8:59 AM To: McCurdy, Robert L. Subject: Re: administative hearings courts Mr McCurdy, I would like to thank you for your response in march first. The motorcycle riders also would like to thank the SC Supreme Court for hearing the cases against the city of Myrtle Beach also. Would you happen to have any idea when the cases for the helmet laws, etc against Myrtle Beach will be heard as the fall rally is already in the works. The biker community is curious if the cases will be heard before the rally at the end of september. Thank You for your time. ----- Original Message ----- _________________________________ From: McCurdy, Robert L. To: Cc: Frierson, Rosalyn Sent: Monday, March 30, 2009 5:28 PM Subject: FW: administative hearings courts Ms. Frierson asked that I respond to your e-mail. Justice Toal, as the constitutional administrative head of the state court system, issued her order in response to an irregularity in the state court system. However, it would be inappropriate for her to comment on individual laws. That issue would have to be addressed through the appellate process. Media reports indicate that those issues have been appealed through an actual case and controversy. Thank you for your interest. Bob McCurdy, SCCA ______________________________________________________ From: Sent: Thursday, March 26, 2009 3:08 PM To: Frierson, Rosalyn Subject: RE: administative hearings courts Mrs Frierson, I am actually unsure about how to proceed with this. I am writing pertaining to the memorandum sent out by Justice Toal pertaining to the administrative courts and what is going on in Myrtle Beach. I am writing in support of thousands of motorcycle enthusiast in the state of SC. they have passed "Local ordinances" to deter the operations of motorcycles within their city limits such as noise laws that are more strict than the state noise limits. They have also enacted a local ordinance requireing the use of helmets by riders over the age of 21 to come into their town. The SC law says riders over 21 have the choice not to wear one. I guess I am asking if you or Justice toal could provide an opinion on these laws or "ordinances" as they are supposed to be heard by a administrative hearings court starting April 24,2009. And if they can supercede state laws on the noise and helmet issues. Thank You very much for your time to read this,

I've not given up my fight. I don't ride in the city. I don't spend money in the city. When the law is repealed, I will... That (I thought) was the key?

If another protest ride is scheduled PM me and I'll send fast Fred's email address to you. He can get it out on his web site. Don't want to put it here because you never know who's watching. Schedule it around the fall rally.
